About Us

Roosevelt Middle School students on the first day

Welcome to Roosevelt Middle School!

In 1965, Roosevelt opened as a junior high school serving students in grades seven, eight and nine. As a part of school district reorganization in 1992, Roosevelt became a middle school serving grades six, seven and eight.

This year, Roosevelt Middle School (RMS) has 100+ staff serving 1,000+ students in grades six - eight. These students live in the communities of Blaine, Ham Lake, Andover and Coon Rapids. Most RMS students will attend Blaine High School when they enter ninth grade. RMS was one of six Minnesota schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2021. This honor is based on the school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

The school also hosts an indoor community pool offering learn to swim classes for swimmers ages birth to adult, aquatic fitness classes, and recreational open swim year-round through Anoka-Hennepin Community Education.
